After paying a visit to the hospital where the police boss was being treated, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua wasted no time in issuing orders to the police. He commanded them to take action against the village responsible for the attack on the officers. Gachagua made it clear that such acts of violence against the police force would not be tolerated. He emphasized that attacking law enforcement officers was an attack on the government itself. With the arrest of 53 individuals involved in the incident, Gachagua wanted to send a strong message that this kind of impunity would not be allowed to prevail.

During his visit to the hospital, Gachagua also took the opportunity to discuss upcoming reforms that would benefit injured officers. He expressed his support for the police force and their families by donating an undisclosed amount of money to the wife of the injured police boss. Gachagua assured her that measures were being put in place to provide better support for officers injured in the line of duty. He mentioned plans for implementing reforms in July 2024, including improved insurance coverage for officers and their families. Gachagua’s gesture and commitment to the well-being of the police force demonstrated his dedication to their welfare.

The severity of the police boss’s injuries was explained by the surgeon in charge of his treatment. The knee cap had been damaged by an arrow, causing significant harm to the tendons. However, thanks to the prompt medical attention, the patient’s condition had been stabilized. This description highlighted the seriousness of the attack and the extent of the harm inflicted on the police boss. It also emphasized the importance of providing timely and effective medical care to injured officers, further underscoring the need for the reforms that Gachagua had mentioned earlier.
