Law enforcement officers in Nairobi successfully apprehended a criminal gang during an operation that spanned across different neighborhoods in the city. The gang, consisting of two women and four men, was involved in a series of crimes that involved drugging unsuspecting victims in clubs and stealing their firearms and other valuables. This operation was a result of diligent detective work and intelligence gathering by the crime researchers stationed in the region.
The gang’s modus operandi involved the women spiking the drinks of their targets, who were often individuals licensed to carry firearms. Once incapacitated, the women would steal the weapons and other items, which were then used by the rest of the gang to carry out criminal activities in the area. The gang had been operating under the radar for some time, spreading fear and chaos in the neighborhoods of Kayole, Umoja 3, and Kiamaiko in Huruma.
Thanks to forensic analysis and the cooperation of the apprehended suspects, the law enforcement officers were able to recover two firearms and ammunition that were stolen from a police officer during a previous incident. The successful operation not only led to the arrest of the gang members but also helped in retrieving crucial evidence that will aid in further investigations. The suspects are now in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings as the authorities continue to gather more information and conduct ballistic analysis on the recovered weapons.
