In the fiscal year 2024/2025, the State Department for Internal Security and National Administration has been granted a substantial budget of Sh.36.15 billion. As part of its efforts to modernize and streamline operations, the government has earmarked Sh.15.18 billion for the procurement of state-of-the-art ICT equipment. This allocation will benefit 283 sub-county offices, enabling them to leverage technology for efficient service delivery. By equipping these offices with advanced tools, the government aims to enhance communication, data management, and overall productivity. The budget also includes a significant allocation of Sh.19.57 billion for administration and support services. This funding will be utilized to establish 26 ports of entry and exits, equipped with joint operation centers. These centers will serve as hubs for coordinating security efforts and monitoring the movement of goods and people. Additionally, the budget will be utilized to digitize firearms licensing records and support the operations of the Kenya Coast Guard Service.
