The investigative agencies in the country have identified six prominent politicians, two non-governmental organisations, and a businessman as the potential culprits behind the recent violence that marred the Gen Z protests. The protests, initially peaceful, took a dark turn as protestors lost valuable possessions like phones and bags due to the chaos caused by these individuals.

The Tuesday protests, now in their third week, were marred by violent attacks on business premises in broad daylight, leading many to suspect that hired goons had infiltrated the demonstrations. Some Kenyans pointed fingers at politicians, accusing them of orchestrating the violence to disrupt the peaceful protests and further their own agendas. NTV journalist James Smart highlighted the presence of these goons, suggesting they were being used by the political class to manipulate public opinion.

Activist Boniface Mwangi emphasized the need for the president to take action against those responsible for instigating violence during the protests. He called for justice to be served and for the perpetrators to face the consequences of their actions. The infiltration of protests by criminal elements was condemned, with calls for accountability and the upholding of the law to ensure the safety of innocent citizens.
