The small village of Kanjuku in Gatundu North, Kiambu county, is currently engulfed in a profound sadness following a devastating motorbike accident that claimed the lives of two young students.

These two teenagers, full of dreams and aspirations, had their lives tragically cut short when their motorbike was unexpectedly struck from behind by another motorbike while they were on their way back home from a visit to Kariminu dam.

The force of the collision caused them to lose control and tumble onto the unforgiving tarmac, ultimately colliding with a passing vehicle, leading to their untimely demise.

This heart-wrenching incident occurred during the night in Mubau wa Kanyoni, leaving three young individuals injured and the responsible motorbike rider fleeing into the darkness, leaving behind a scene of chaos and despair.

Brian Mburu, who was also a Form Four student and riding the ill-fated motorbike, suffered injuries in the accident, adding to the already overwhelming tragedy.

As Brian regained consciousness after fainting, he was met with a devastating sight – his two cousins lying motionless and bleeding on the road. Overwhelmed with shock and despair, he immediately sought help from his grandfather, hoping for a miracle.

Jane’s condition seemed critical, and Muiruri’s desperate cries for divine intervention only added to the overwhelming sense of grief and helplessness that Brian was experiencing.

The loss of these two vibrant young lives, brimming with potential and promise, has shattered the entire family and left them drowning in an ocean of sorrow.

Despite their desperate attempts to seek medical assistance, the injured youngsters were met with disappointment as the health facilities they rushed to were either closed or unresponsive, compounding their anguish.
