Mutahi Ngunyi conveyed a strong message to the younger generation, advising them against taking to the streets to demand the resignation of Deputy President Ruto. According to Ngunyi, Ruto holds an unprecedented level of power, making it virtually impossible for anyone to force him out of his position. This assertion by Ngunyi is significant as it sheds light on the perceived invincibility of Ruto in the political landscape.
Furthermore, Ngunyi emphasized the futility of the ongoing protests by Gen Z, warning them of the potential consequences they might face if they continue to defy his counsel. By urging them to reconsider their actions and cease their demonstrations, Ngunyi is attempting to steer the youth away from a path that he believes will lead to regret and disappointment in the future. This stance taken by Ngunyi underscores his belief in the importance of strategic decision-making and the avoidance of unnecessary confrontations.
Ngunyi’s rationale for advising Gen Z to abandon their movement is rooted in the historical context of Ruto’s family, particularly highlighting the heroic actions of Ruto’s father in the fight for Kenyan independence. By drawing attention to this legacy, Ngunyi aims to portray Ruto as a formidable figure with a strong foundation of support and influence. This historical perspective adds a layer of complexity to the current political dynamics, framing Ruto as a figure deeply entrenched in the history and struggles of the nation.
There is no fear for God is with us.
I also tend to believe that Gen Z should now stop taking to the streets but for reasons that despite being different from that of Mutahi Ngunyi are not contradictory to his.
Gen Z has expressed themselves and their demands represented direct concerns of a big populace of both vocal and silent Kenyans. The demos have led to the President rejecting the contentious finance bill and even gave in to demands to engage netizens on space while also providing a take off of some little changes with a raft of more radical changes expected as per his promise. This is reason enough for Gen Z to retreat for now though I have other reasons.
There are positive impacts by the protests among them a change in leadership style for all elected and politically appointed leaders not only the presidency and how these positions will be viewed henceforth. Consequently people aspiring for these positions will have some serious thought before throwing their gauntlets and will take seriously their mandates.
Police have faced public wrath for use of excessive force on protesters whereby lives were lost and we have people who lost property and wealth which might not be recovered but whose plights have never been addressed even by human rights activists. Yes, loss of life is bigger but these businessman also have a right to protection of their property. I don’t want to dwell on that for now but it should be given the prominence it deserves. Continuity of protests are bound to result in further losses of the two mentioned catastrophes.
Continual taking to the streets will dilute the hitherto noble course and it will appear that there was a bigger scheme for which the finance bill was just a stepping stone and it might be deemed that the protests were sponsored by people with a wider scheme.
During demos, everything comes to a standstill and this drastically batters the economy. Having expressly presented concerns, it is prudent that room for action by the authorities is given. If street expressions continue, the very reason that led to the protests are trashed as we will be battering the economy further leading to total destruction.
It has been said and I also say that we have only one Kenya and we should hold tightly together as we amicably map a way forward.
I believe the president has agood plan, lets give him time to deliver.,we are used to eat through loans,it’s time to stop and build our economy. He should be strong and be wise politically, his opponents are taking advantage while supporting the demo. Watch Raila very, very closely. Tuko nawewe kwa ground. Am from gatanga
Plz! As Kenyans we need our President to look all sides of the country, not only in parliament but righty belong s to every person, how comes Ruto wan’ts Kenyans to listen to him but not him listen to others we need a leader who will listen everyone’s cry Ruto must go go go go go forever🇸🇸🇳🇦
Ngunyi is some who keeps on shifting goal posts for his survival..idy urge him to use that opportunity to advise Ruto instead that’s the reason he shifted from Jubilee to uda..Ruto will kill the body but long live the spirit..
Have you been compromised to discourage the youth? What the administration of the day is doing is wrong in the Eyes of the Living God Yhwee.
Ngunyi your table is full I guess so that’s why you are emitting such words unless otherwise
